New Refurbatron (Black or Orange) 5000 MAh design that replaces the "un-obtainium" 1800mAh Thales Battery. Allows Radio to operate at full 5 Watts Output (Unlike Clamshell AA Pack) Has a built in charger, short circuit protection, under-volt protected (The works) The Racal/Thales 25 is NTIA approved on the equipment list for Civil Air Patrol. You also get a like new Thales Military case/pouch. Speaker Mics are on hold as we need to replace the old style Mic Connectors with the Plastic Latch with the modern ones that are the screw on type.

*Note the battery pack uses the newer 21700 type batteries not 18650 so the 5,000 MAh output is not hype like the 9999MAh 18650 cells you may have seen that are actually testing out at 999MAh After some field testing doing typical transmitting recv the test team got almost 3 days of operation! No special charger needed. Just attach the supplied cable to 13.5 Volts DC. You should get an 80% charge in a couple hours. If you charge with a wall wart it will still charge it just takes longer. If you wire the charge cable to a cig plug for Van / Car you can charge AND operate at the same time. Charge the battery every other month if your not using it. *Same applies to all Litium Ion battery packs. This chemistry loves to be left on trickle charge!

*Note we have enabled all the optional features so you get AES and DES Crypto KVL option is on but... No KVL Key-loader is needed - just a normal Program cable and regular software.
